The Blend develops focused releases directly with artists. This is how selection, ownership, editions, participation, provenance, and fulfillment are approached.
Artists come to The Blend through direct relationships, studio conversations, and submissions. We look for compelling visual work with its own point of view and a story worth bringing into view.
Selection is not based on follower counts, streaming numbers, or perceived fame. Recognition may create context, but the artwork must be able to stand on its own.
A collaboration does not require the artist to sell the original. Many releases begin with one featured work that remains in the artist’s ownership while a small edition is developed around it.
If an original is acquired by The Blend or offered to a collector, that is handled as a separate decision with its own written terms.
When a work becomes an edition, format, materials, dimensions, edition size, proofs, signing, numbering, timing, and pricing are developed directly with the artist before release.
Edition sizes are fixed and intentionally small. Originals remain identified as originals; editions are documented as editions and are never quietly expanded after launch.
The artist retains copyright unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. Permission to produce a particular edition does not create a general right to reproduce the artwork in other forms.
The artist approves the presentation of the work and the agreed edition details before the release goes live.
Participation, production responsibilities, costs, pricing, and payment timing are established in writing before launch. The artist knows how the release works and how they participate in its success before anything is offered publicly.
No submission response or early conversation creates a binding commitment. A collaboration begins only when both sides agree to clear release terms.
The Blend does not require broad ownership of an artist’s wider visual practice. Any exclusivity is defined in the release agreement and applies only to the work, edition, format, or period specifically described there.
Each release documents the artist, title, year, medium, dimensions, edition information, and catalog record. Certificates and supporting records are prepared to give collectors a clear chain of context and authenticity.
The Blend coordinates the agreed photography, production, presentation, collector communication, packaging, and fulfillment for each release. The exact responsibilities and schedule are confirmed with the artist before launch.
