The Blend Collective is a curated platform for visual art created by musicians and other multidisciplinary artists known first for something else.
We present the work with the same seriousness, context, and care given to any other original art.

01 — How It Started
WE KNEW THE MUSIC.
THEN WE SAW THE ART.
The idea for The Blend began with our late friend Charlie Colin.
Most people knew Charlie as a founding member and bassist of Train. We also knew another side of him: a serious visual artist.
Seeing that work raised a simple question:
How many artists are known for one creative life while another remains almost entirely unseen?
We started looking. Charlie was not the exception.
Musicians we knew painted. Drew. Photographed. Sculpted. Made work privately, sometimes for years, with little connection to the world that knew their music.
The Blend Collective grew from that discovery.
Our background spans more than 30 combined years working with independent artists, venues, and music-industry professionals. The Blend brings that experience into a different kind of creative conversation.
The Blend Collective is an independent project and is not affiliated with Charlie Colin’s estate, family, Train, or its current or former members.
02 — Why The Blend Exists
AN ARTIST IS RARELY
ONLY ONE THING.
Creative identity does not always follow categories.
A musician may also be a painter. A writer may photograph. An actor may spend years making work no audience has ever seen.
The Blend exists to give that work a serious place to be discovered, presented, discussed, and collected.
NOT AS MEMORABILIA.
NOT AS CELEBRITY MERCHANDISE.
AS ART.
Curatorial Philosophy
SMALL, SPECIFIC,
AND ARTIST-LED.
The Blend is intentionally selective.
We focus on individual artists and small releases rather than building an endless marketplace.
We look for work with a distinct visual language, a genuine creative practice, and the ability to stand on its own beyond the artist’s existing reputation.

Collaborative
Releases are developed directly with the artist. Editions, presentation, pricing, storytelling, and participation are agreed upon before launch.

Limited
Originals remain original. Editions are intentionally small, clearly identified, and never quietly expanded after release.
04 — Beyond The Collection
A SHARED BELIEF IN
SUPPORTING ARTISTS.
The Blend Collective occasionally works alongside FireHorse Foundation, an independent nonprofit supporting artists through mentorship, industry access, funding, resources, and opportunity.
The organizations are separate. The Blend is a commercial art platform; FireHorse Foundation is a charitable nonprofit.
When a specific release or event benefits FireHorse, the relationship and contribution will be clearly stated.
